FILES, MADE SIMPLE

Task guides.

Start with your goal. Finish with a useful file.

Pick an outcome, follow the steps and review your saved copy. Each guide takes you to the tools that support the task.

Images · on your device

Send smaller photos.

  1. Open the image editor and reduce dimensions to the size you need.
  2. Choose JPG for photos without transparency, or WebP when the recipient supports it. Adjust quality while checking the preview.
  3. Save a copy, then compare its size and details with the original.

Browser-decodable images, up to 30 MB and 20 million pixels. Batch resizing accepts up to 20 images and 30 MB combined.

AI · on your device

Make a clean transparent cutout.

  1. Open Background remover and choose Quick or Detailed processing.
  2. Zoom into hair and edges. Use erase and restore brushes to correct the mask.
  3. Export PNG to preserve transparency. Review it against a different background.

Model weights download on first use. Your selected image stays on your device. Fine edges may need manual correction.

Text · on your device

Copy text from an image.

  1. Choose a clear image and the matching recognition language.
  2. Extract the text, then compare it with the source. Check similar letters and digits, spacing and hyphens in codes.
  3. Correct the editable result before copying or saving TXT.

Browser OCR accepts up to 15 MB and 12 million pixels. In the Windows app, Win + Ctrl + Shift + T captures a screen region; use Codes mode for vouchers and serials.

PDF · on your device

Put PDF pages in order.

  1. Use Merge PDF for several documents and arrange their order before processing.
  2. Use Split PDF for individual page files, or the PDF editor for annotations.
  3. Open the saved result and check page order, orientation and readability.

Merge: up to 20 unencrypted PDFs, 30 MB combined and 60 pages total. Editing a signed PDF can invalidate its signature. Annotations do not remove underlying text.

Documents

Prepare a document for sharing.

  1. Write or import your text in the Word editor and check headings and spacing.
  2. Choose an output supported by the tool. DOCX export sends document content to the server to create the file.
  3. Open the exported copy in your target reader and review the layout.

Conversion can change complex layouts. Use the supported From / To combinations rather than renaming an extension.

Windows

Understand an update result.

  1. Save your current edited files before restarting to install.
  2. If Setup reports an error but TypeShift opens, read the running version in Settings.
  3. In desktop 0.1.9 or later, use Check update health and Save diagnostic report to inspect the last attempt.

The diagnostic report is saved locally and omits file content, full paths and account tokens. A Setup error and the running app version are reported separately.

GOOD TO KNOW

Questions, answered.

Do I need an account?

No. Open a tool, choose your file and prepare the result. There is no account or paid checkout in these tool pages.

Do my files leave my device?

Image editing, batch image tools, collage, PDF editing, merging, splitting, rotation, numbering, watermarking, page extraction and checksums run in your browser. File conversion and Word DOCX export send the selected content to the server for processing. Image to URL uploads an image only when you click Create link; anyone with that link can view it.

Which formats can I convert?

Use the From / To selector to see supported combinations. Image conversion includes JPG, PNG, WebP, BMP, TIFF, GIF, AVIF and ICO. PDF, DOCX and UTF-8 TXT have specific output options; any file cannot become every format.

What are the file limits?

Most tools accept up to 30 MB. PDF tools support up to 60 pages. Images support up to 20 million pixels. Batch and collage tools also have combined limits shown on their pages.

Will my original file change?

No. Save file creates a new output. Keep your original, review the result and download before leaving the page. Browser-generated save links are temporary.

Your file. Your next step.

Choosing a tool transfers your file locally. Server conversion or public sharing uploads only when you start that action. Opening another tool leaves this page; save any existing edits first.
